Why Joey Chou

OPING Private Client is led by Joey Chou, who has lived and worked in China since 1993.

Joey has more than 33 years of legal, tax, business and cross-border experience in China. His background includes more than five years with Deloitte in Shanghai, advanced studies in Chinese law, long-standing work with Jingtian & Gongcheng, and decades advising international companies and individuals on complex matters in China.

Private client work is also personal to him.

Over several generations, Joey has handled property and inheritance matters following the deaths of his grandparents, his uncle and his father. Each case involved different family members, documents, assets and levels of complexity.

That experience shaped the way OPING Private Client works.

The difficult part is rarely just the paperwork. It is knowing whom you can safely trust to act for you when you are thousands of kilometres away.
